Abstract
The current reference frequency for tuning musical instruments is 440 Hz. Some theorists and musicians claim that 432 Hz tuning has a better effect on the human body, though no controlled scientific studies currently support this hypothesis.
Introduction
Humans have understood for centuries that sound has a profound effect on the body and mind. Since our discovery of music and shamanistic chanting, we have kept pushing the boundaries of how the healing effects of sound and frequency can be measured.
Music affects more than our psyches — it is known to influence internal functions such as blood pressure, heart rate, anxiety, and even digestion, among many other things.
What are the “god frequencies”?
The idea of the “God Frequency” centers on the theta brainwave state — the claim being that the mind must be tuned to this state to fully activate certain manifestation and meditation practices. Reaching it is described as a matter of mastering specific meditation methods, guided by a daily audio practice of roughly 15 minutes.
The frequencies most often referenced in this tradition are:
40 · 174 · 285 · 396 · 417 · 432 · 440 · 528 · 639 · 852 · 963 Hz
How the frequencies are said to affect health
Sound and frequency are used to influence human health in several ways. Alternative medicine regards the following tones as carrying specific healing associations:
40 Hz
Flickering light and sound at 40 Hz have been used in Alzheimer’s research to stimulate neural response and study symptoms of dementia. It is linked to gamma brain waves and the stimulation of memory.
174 Hz
One of the Solfeggio frequencies, associated in alternative medicine with the reduction of both pain and stress.
285 Hz
Considered instrumental in the healing of cuts, burns, and other physical wounds — said to encourage cellular regeneration.
396 Hz
Associated with the release of fear, guilt, and other negative feelings. Said to balance the root chakra while transforming grief into more joyful states.
417 Hz
Focused on the removal of negative energy — including energy tied to past trauma — and said to dissolve emotional blockages while activating the sacral chakra.
432 Hz
Aimed at the heart chakra; listening at 432 Hz is said to bring greater mental and emotional clarity, and is considered by some to be an optimal tuning for opera singers.
440 Hz
The modern standard tuning pitch, described in this tradition as more “cerebral” and linked to cognitive development and the third eye chakra.
528 Hz
Known as the “love frequency” and the “miracle note” — one of the most widely referenced Solfeggio tones, associated historically with blessing.
639 Hz
Associated with the heart chakra, harmonious relationships, clearer communication, and situational awareness.
852 Hz
Associated with redirecting the mind away from overthinking and intrusive, negative thought patterns.
963 Hz
Known as the “pure miracle tone” and the “frequency of the gods” — associated with the pineal gland, the crown chakra, and higher spiritual development.
Conclusion
Of these, 432 Hz is highlighted as the tone most associated with a positive effect on health — linked to greater mental and emotional clarity, and considered by some practitioners to reflect a higher level of spiritual development.
It is worth noting plainly: these associations come from alternative-medicine and Solfeggio tradition rather than controlled clinical research, and readers should treat them as a framework for personal practice, not medical advice.
